Exotic Cat Food Zupreem, Serval Cat Food
Serval Cat Diet & Nutrition

Let me point out I m not a veterinarian! You should always talk to you veterinarian before deciding on what to feed an animal. Remember not all veterinarians have experience with exotic animals.  Remember to search for a proper vet before buying an exotic animal.

What to feed your cat is a very important issue that owners must understand. Raw food is the only diet that is 100% fool proof to provide the proper nutrition to any animal.

Many owners use raw chicken with vitamins added manual. The only problem with this method is if you do not use the correct dosage of certain vitamins you can end up with vitamin deficiencies or worst broken bones. We have used frozen feeder rats in the past.  They leave no mess, they don’t smell and my cats love them.
Zupreem™ is also another popular canned exotic cat feed.  I do feed Zupreem™ but not as a whole diet.   Some cats can get the “runs” from Zupreem™ ,  the best way to deal with the “runs” is to feed cooked chicken breast to harden the stool. Cooked chicken alone is not a proper diet.  It does not have all the vitamins a wild cat need.  Also NEVER feed cooked bones to any cat as the bone loses all its nutrientance and may splinter.

Zupreem

Zupreem™

Food Diet Pros: Commercially prepared canned food that cost around  $30.00 for 24 cans. Specifically made for Exotic felines.

Food Diet Cons: Cats can get the runs from Zupreem™.  Detailed long term research on Zupreem™  has not been preformed.

Remember: look at the labels for preservatives which are questioned as a carcinogen. Servals must get 54 mgs of calcium per pound while growing.

Frozen Feeder Rats

Food Diet Pros: Easy to feed. No mess, no guessing about what you might be doing wrong. Whole prey is also very enriching for you cat.

Food Diet Cons: The cost of rats is about $2.00 per rat. Servals need to consume 10% of their body weight daily.

Remember: Although it may cost more to do whole prey, it cost more for a reason. Between buying vitamins, meat and doing all the research it would be more cost effective to feed whole prey for most .

Wild Trax Feline Supplement™

Food Diet Pros: Commercially prepared vitamin that cost around  $40.00 a tub. This can be added to proper amount of meat. Specifically made for Exotic felines..

Remember to look at the labels for preservatives which are questioned as a carcinogen . Servals must get 54 mgs of calcium per pound while growing.

Whole Prey

Frogs, hares and other small mammals.

Pros: Easy to feed. Whole prey is also very enriching for your cat.

Cons: Rabbit can make great whole prey and if you get a proper breeding program going it can be cost efficient. Servals require to eat 10% of there body weight daily so when planning keep this in mind.

Remember: Although it may cost more to do whole prey, it cost more for a reason. Between buying vitamins, meat and doing all the research it would be more cost effective to feed whole prey for most .

Snacks

Pros: Snacks are very enriching for your cat.

Cons: The only con is figuring out what your cat likes!

You will be surprised. Servals love shrimp,  lamb, beef, fish of all kinds and all different veggies.
